AMP Engineering delivered the public domain and civil infrastructure works associated with the construction of a three-storey residential development at 38 Bayswater Street, Drummoyne. The works were undertaken within a constrained urban environment and required close coordination with the developer, Transport for NSW, City of Canada Bay Council, utility authorities and surrounding stakeholders.
The scope of works included:
• Project management, programming and coordination of the complete public domain package
• Traffic management and staged construction within Bayswater Street
• Demolition of the redundant vehicle crossing, concrete footpath, kerb and gutter
• Construction of a new reinforced concrete vehicle crossing and driveway layback
• Construction of a new concrete footpath across the full site frontage
• Replacement of the existing grass verge with concrete footpath
• Construction and reinstatement of SA-type kerb and gutter, including transition works
• Installation of new stormwater drainage pipes, kerb inlet pits and property connections
• Coordination, protection and adjustment of existing utility services
• Full-width pavement milling and asphalt resurfacing using 50 mm AC14 asphalt
• Installation and reinstatement of regulatory signage and line marking
• Restoration of disturbed road, footpath and public-domain areas
• Quality assurance, inspections, testing, as-built documentation and final handover
AMP successfully managed the interface between the private development and the surrounding public infrastructure, delivering the works in accordance with the TfNSW-accepted design and relevant council requirements. The project demonstrates AMP's capability to undertake complex public-domain packages while maintaining safe access, minimising disruption and achieving a high-quality finish suitable for developer and authority handover.
